Adrian Sutcliffe is a highly experienced examiner and trainer of new examiners for ABRSM. He has examines both Grades and Diplomas up to the highest FRSM level. His many international tours have included the U.S.A., Bermuda, Turkey, India, China, Malaysia, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Hong Kong, Spain, Indonesia, Oman, U.A.E., Thailand, Macau, Ghana, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
He has judged piano competitions far and wide, from Brussels to Bangkok and has given a large number of workshops and masterclasses around the UK.
As a teacher and coach he also has considerable experience, with private pupils ranging from young beginners to Diploma, music college entrants and beyond. He has his own small but much valued private teaching practice, with lessons continuing via Skype when he is away on foreign tours.
He has also conducted a great many workshops for larger groups of children and students, ranging from solo piano events to creative musical productions and interactive dance workshops with the Royal Ballet Company. His group ‘Classic Rhythm’ gave a series of workshops and concerts for children in Nice and Monaco early in 2015, whilst with the quartet ‘Foursight’ he was involved in a year’s residency and in various Summer Schools in and around East London.
